Members present: Win Drews, Judy NicCuskey, Jean Raby, Roger Stein, Jim Heiland, 'Tom Schmi ri. Also,present: Councilman Bill Keeler. Chairman Breckheimer announced that Don Pauison,:wishes to resign'from. the Commission. Secretary Schimd was instructed to write those citizens that had earlier expressed interest. They are to be invited to the March 21st meeting to talk with Commsission members. Replacement decision to be made after that meeting. Secretary to contact Jan Haugen regarding persons from Manor -Shady Hills area who might wish to serve. Discussion on completion of Cathcart building. General consensus was that the target was an $8,000, shelter. Dregs urged that Vern Watten be invited to the March 21st or Apri 4th meeting. Chairman Breckheimer` announced ` that 'the Park Ordinance hick been passed by the Council. Chairman Breckhein3er announced that member Raby had volunteered to serve as the Shorewood Park Commission representative on =the South Shore Planning; Commission. Chairman Breckheimer reported that he has been trying to contact City Attorney Fronk Kelly regarding the purchase of the two acres adjoining Manor Park. Win Drews commented on Councilman 1;aegele's suggestion at the February 7th Joint Meeting that we look for marsh -type land that might be donated to:the city as a tax- deductible gift. Bruce Carmichael was present to thank the Park Commission for the,use of Badger r;rk for the Broomball. tournament, February 12=-1. He expressed a' desire to donate $100 to the parks for a project. MOTION: Drews moved to accept the Carmichael. donation of $100 and that it be used at Manor Park.. Seconded by Heil.and. Carried. The Commission expressed thanks to Mr. Carmichael. Breckheimer and Keeler discussed the 'proposed Bike Trail from Tonka Plaza to ,, Minne- washta school indicating the project might be affected by the laying of water lines. Keeler pointed out that.if the project was delayed, money could be';banked over several years as long as the money was eventually used for that project. No band, procession, parade, military display; enter- tainment, exhibition, picnic, or public meeting shall be allowed in r any park, unless written permission,authorizing such activity is first obtained from the city administrator. j ( } Subd. 1. Groups of less than 20 persons shall be exempt from the provisions this Section. Section 5. No person shall bring any firearms, air rifle, BB'gun, sling shot, explosives, fireworks, or devices capable of discharging i blank an nunition into any park.
