The meeting was called to order by Chairman: John Breckheimer.
Members - present :;
Win Drews, Jean Raby, Bill Wyatt, Roger Stein, Jim Robin, Judy Mc6uskey, Tom
Schmid. Also present: Mike Naylon and Debbi Fellman of Minnesota Environmental
Science Foundation and Councilman Bill Keeler,
Fellman presented a rough draft of the park plan publication. Her handout included,
philosophy, bike trail standards, guidelines and booklet maps shoring historic
sites, layout of internal trail systems and soils as related to ficilities.'`
It was decided that the Commission will review the park plan booklet at the next
meeting (June 6). Fellman said she would send the concept plan and preliminary pri—
orities to Commission members before the June 6th meeting.
Secretary Schmid was instructed to write a letter to each City Council member invt-
ing them to the June 6th Park Commission meeting. McCuskey agreed to call Council
members a day ahead to remind them.
It was agreed that the only item on the June 6th meeting agenda`would be the long.
range park plan.
Wyatt inquired as to when the bid for the Badger Park Tennis Courts would be pub—'
lished. Keeler replied that Bernie Mittelsteadt was working on this.
Breckheimer, inquiring for Jim Heil.and, wanted"to know what couldbe done regarding
dandelion growth at Cathcart. Keeler reported Shorewood has a contract with Mahoney
for spraying therefore the Council must ask Mahoney what he would' charge.
Wyatt indicated he has talked with Vern Watten and that the next Otep was for Witten
to discuss the plans with Bernie Mittelsteadt, city engineer. Keeler and Wyattsaid
they would secure the building permit from Chanhassen. Other questions discussed
were the need for a foreman and insurance.
Breckheimer indicated correspondence received from Governor Perpich's office regard-
ing Bocce Ball courts and from the South Shore Park group regarding a meeting in
Excelsior.
Breckheimer announced the following schedule of Park Commission observers at
Planning Commission meetings:

Wyatt made a request for the paper work behind the formula for Joint Trails Study.'
