MINUTES'
Members Present: Chairman Don Goettelman, Gordon Lindstrom, Roger Stein,
Conrad Schmid, John Breckheimer and Councilman Keeler
(off and on).
Members Absent: Robert Nygaard
Meeting called to order at 7:45 P.M.
John Breckheimer has decided to resign from the Park Commission after
many years of service to our community. John's contributions have been
many and worth while. It has been a privilege and a delight to have
worked with John. He will be missed.
There are now two vacancies on the Park Commission and all members have
been requested to find candidates for these positions.
Comprehensive Plan - Report No. Five - Parks and Open Space Detailed
Facilities Plan First Draft. Pages 48 & 49
Below is a list of the goals and the priorities of these goals as agreed
to by the Park Commission.
Short Term Goal (by 1984)
1. Community Playfield - Freeman Park - Development (Phase 1)
2. Community Park - Freeman Park - Development
3. Community Park - Lake Minnetonka Waterfront - Acquisition
4. Neighborhood Park — Manor Park — Redevelopment
5. Neighborhood Park - New area So. of Hwy. 7 - Acquisition
Midterm Goal (by 1990)
1. Community Park - Lake Minnetonka Waterfront - Development
2. Community Playfield - Freeman Park - Development (Phase II)
3. Neighborhood Park - New area So. of Hwy. 7 - Development
4. Trails /Linear Parks - Linkages to Regional Local: Routes -
Acquisition & Development
5. Neighborhood Park - Glen Road area - Acquisition
6. Mini -Park - New area So. of Galphin Lake

1. Community Park - Freeman Park - Development (Phase III)
2. Special' Use Facility- Boat access, arenas, etc. - Acquisition
and /or Development
3. Neighborhood Park - Boulder Bridge farm area Acquisition and

4. Neighborhood Park - Glen Road area - Development
5. Trails to Islands - - Acquisition and Development
6. Trails /Linear Parks - Local System Development
7. "Nature Interpretive Conter - - Development
8. Mini -Park - So. of Galphin Lake - Development
9. Mini -Park - Cathcart Park Redevelopment
10. Mini -Park - Luke 'William - Acquisition and Development
It was felt that No. 20 (Shelter Buildings in neighborhood parks) should
not be considered as a separate goal as it would be considered in the
development of the parks.
On an over all basis, the priorities would be as follows:
1. Development of Freeman Park.
2. Acquisition and development of Lake Minnetonka waterfront.
3. Acquisition of lands other than 2 above.
4. All other development and redevelopment projects.
Next regular meeting of Park Commission to be January 21, 1930 at the
Village Hall, 7:30 P.M.
