Park Maintenance and Repair
Councilman Keeler reported that an estimate of Shorewoods park
maintenance costs has not yet been provided by the Village clerk.
Until these figures are available, meetings with surrounding villages
will be postponed.
Freeman Park
Development of this park was discussed. The Park Commission is
interested in starting phase I of this development as soon as possible.
Councilman Keeler was requested to see if an aerial photo and plat
drawings of the property might be available.
Southwest Trail Association
Jim Heiland, President of this association, made a presentation regarding
their plan to connect the following arias via a snowmobile trail. Baker
Park, St. Boni, Waconia, Victoria, Shorewood, Excelsior, Chanhassen, and
Eden Prairie. Jim said this could be accomplished thru the state and the
DN &R if their club acquires a sponsering city. He requested that Shore-
wood be that city. The Southwest Trail Association will develop and
maintain these trails by using the volunteer efforts of their membership.
Membership now is 6 clubs with approximately 30 families in each club.
The association will submit a bill for their costs to the DN &R and they
will pay 65% of this cost to Shorewood which would inturn, pass on to
the association. Shorewoods role in this venture would be that of a
conduit for the transfer of these funds from the DN &R to the association.
No liability or cost would be associated with this agreement.
