M I N U T E S
Meeting called to order at 7:45 P.M.
Present: Chairman Don Goettelman, Gordon Lindstrom, Roger Stein,
Bob Nygaard and Irene Chanin.
Absent: Conrad Schmid, Carol Chapman and Bill Keeler, Councilman
Minutes of June 2, 1980, approved as written.
Chairman Goettelman provided members with a copy of a letter
received from Erkkila and Associates regarding the suggested
revisions on the park system plan. There was a discussion of
some of the questions raised and members were requested to be
prepared to address these questions either at the July 7 meeting
or at a special joint meeting of Council and Park Commission.
Also to be on the agenda for that joint meeting: charging of
fees and park fund contributions from new developments (Amesbury,
etc.) Chairman Goettelman reported that Mayor Frazier had
informed him that Erkkila and Associates would be completing
the park plan. The Mayor had commented that he was pleased with
the input the Council had been receiving from the Park Commission
and that he would arrange for a joint meeting in the near future.
There was some discussion of Metro Park Commission's letter re
Carver County Park on Lake Minnewashta, and a one acre park plan
to give Lake Minnetonka access.
It was decided to take the Mayor's suggestion to hold Park
Commission meetings once a month during the summer. The next
meeting will be scheduled for Monday, July 7, 1980.
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 9:00 P.M.
