CALL TO ORDER Chairman Goettelman called the regular Park Commission meeting of Monday, October 5, 1981 to order at 7:44 P.M. ROLL CALL Present: Bob Nygaard (Arrived 8:10), Roger Stein, Don Goettelman, Gary Carl, Carol Chapman Absent : Conrad Schmid (business), Gordon Lindstrom (business) APPROVAL OF PARK COMMISSION MINUTES DATED SEPTEMBER 21, 1981 Carl moved, Stein seconded, that the Park Commission minutes dated September 21, 1981 be approved as written. Motion carried 4-0. REPORTS = Chapman reported from the September 28, 1981 Council meeting that they had passed the recommendation to have the Planner do the plan and study of Freeman Park, subject to verifying availability of operating funds. = Council authorized expenditure of funds to finish Manor Park. = Council expressed concern over Police Budget because Shorewood is paying 47.47% of the total budget of the Police Department among the four communities of Excelsior, Greenwood, Tonka Bay, and Shorewood. • DISCUSSION OF: - Comprehensive Plan REPORT NO. 5 PARKS & OPEN SPACE /DETAILED FACILITIES PLAN September, 1980 After an extensive discussion of the above referred to Comprehensive Plan, the Park Commission saw no real major problems. Its concept in general was accepted. ADJOURNMENT Carl moved, Chapman seconded, to adjourn the regular Park Commission meeting of Monday, October 5, 1981 at 9:15 P.M. Motion carried 5 -0.
