010482 PK MINPARK COMMISSION MEETING 0 M I N U T E S January 4, 1982 CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Don Goettelman called the regular Park Commission meeting to order at 7:45 P.M., Moncay, January 4, 1982 in the City Council Chambers. ROLL CALL Present: Gary Carl, Carol Chapman, Gordon Lindstrom, Conrad Schmid, Roger Stein, Don Goettlemen and Liaison Tad Shaw. Absent: Bob Nygaard APPROVAL OF MINUTES - December 7, 1981 Gary Carl moved, Roger Stein seconded, of December 7th be approved as written Page 2 - second paragraph: delete stand is not to be operat unless requested to do so lar event". that the minutes of the meeting with the following changes: the sentence, "The concession ad during organized events by the director ofl.the particu- Page 2: Reports: Correct the frist report to read as follows: "Carl reported from the Council meeting that some land [from Oak Ridge Estates] might be donated to the park commission in lieu of the $500 per lot. • Motion that minutes stand approved as corrected. Carried. RESIGNATION The resignation of Bob Nygaard from the Park Commission was received and acknowledged. The Commission asks that the Mayor send a letter of appreciation.to Nygaard for his years of service to the city on this commission. ELECTION OF OFFICERS AND REAPPOINTMENTS The terms of commissioners Carl, Goettleman, and Stein expired on 12/31/81. The commission recommends that the Council reappoint all three for new terms. The commission, by election, appointed Gary Carl as Chairman and Carol Chapman as Vice - chairman for the calendar year 1982. A representative from the Park Commission has been assigned to attend Council and Planning Commission meetings for the coming year. The assignments are as follows: Jan. - Roger Stein May - Sept. - Goettleman Feb. — Lindstrom June - Mar. - Chapman July- Chapman Oct. - Lindstrom Apr. - Schmid Aug - Schmid Nov. - Goettleman Dec. - Stein REPORTS: Tad Shaw reported that the administrator had closed Manor Park warming house due to vandalism done to the warming house structure. Commission suggested that the administrator post a sign on the warming house to advise interested parties of the cause of the closing. PARK COMMISSION MEETING - 2 - January 4, 1982 Schmid moved, Carl seconded the following resolution: The Park Commission recommends that the City Administrator design a sign to be posted at each Park facility offering a reward for any information about any person who damages park facilities. Motion carried 6 -0. GOETTLEMAN reported that Ann Bronten of the planners office will be at the next scheduled meeting with plans and further discussion about Freeman Park improvements. SHAW reminded the commission of the budget squeeze, and repeated the need for creative thinking in regard to methods of financing park facilities in coming years.
