This would require use of the lights and the warming house. Commission suggested that instead of evening use, they be encouraged to use the rink on weekends, during the day, for "dry practice ". It was felt that the lighting is expensive and it would probably be necessary to charge a fairly high hourly rate. Staff was requested to check into lighting expenses per hour and report to Commission. AMERICAN LEGION POST — CONTRIBUTION Sonny Streeter and Lenny Berglund of American Legion Post #259, 24450 Smithtown Road, were present to state that the Legion wishes to donate approximately $2000 to the Park Commission. They said that they would prefer to donate it to a specific project so that it would not go into a general fund. Commission suggested the "Century Club ", explaining that a donation to the Century Club goes to one of two places; playground equipment or Freeman Park Improvements. Commissioner Gary Carl presented Mr. Streeter with a copy of the "Playground Equipment Booklet" to study. They plan to attend the next meeting.
