052184 PK MINCITY OF SHOREWOOD PARK COMMISSION MEETING MONDAY, MAY 21, 1984 CALL TO ORDER MINUTES SHOREWOOD CITY HALL 5755 COUNTRY CLUB ROAD 7:30 PM Chairman Roger Stein called the meeting to order at approximately 8:50 PM. ROLL CALL Present: Chairman Roger Stein; Commissioners Butterfield, Carl, Jakel and Kooi; plus Council Liaison Tad Shaw and Deputy Clerk Sue Niccum. Absent: Commisioners Lindstrom and Schmid. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Carol Butterfield moved, seconded by Gary Carl, to approve the May 7, 1984, minutes as written. Motion carried unanimously. FESTIVAL OF PARKS All necessary discussion took place at the Festival of Parks meeting prior to the Park Commission meeting. • PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT Brancel construction's bid was accepted by the Council at the May 14, 1984 meeting. Staff informed the Commission that the bid bonds and 5', deposit have been returned to all other bidders. Mari Kooi reminded the Commission that anyone who wanted to be present at the time publicity pictures are taken must be at Badger Park on June 9, at 9:00 AM. CENTURY CLUB — Plaoue The plaque has been finished and delivered. Commission remarked on the nice job done. LIAISON — PLANNING COMMISSION The Park Commission discussed at length the idea of sending a member to the Planning Commission meetings. Mari Kooi moved, Marty Jakel seconded, that the Park Commission respectfully recommend that the City Council automatically refer anything with a subdivision fee to the Park Commission. Motion carried unanimously. DAYTON PROPERTY The Park Commission asked staff to ask Planner Nielsen to keep the Park commission informed in writing regarding the Dayton negotiations. PARK COMMISSION MINUTES MONDAY, MAY 21, 1984 Page two OFFICIAL STAFF REPORTS Commission informed staff that they will notify staff when they request a separate official staff report to be done for Council meetings. REPORTS Liaison Tad Shaw informed the Commission that the Council plans on announcing the identity of the new Administrator within a week. CRESCENT BEACH- MANOR PARK— Public Works Director Don Zdrazil. Public Works Director , Don Zdrazil, submitted a list of things to be done at both Manor Park and Crescent Beach. He wishes to know if he has authority to buy what is necessary to finish Manor Park ball field and get Crescent Beach ready for opening on Memorial Day weekend. Gary Carl moved, Carol Butterfield seconded, that Mr. Zdrazil will do whatever necessary except for the raft. AT) TOITUNTMPNT Gary Carl moved, seconded by Carol Butterfield to adjourn at 10:20 PM.
