ADVERTISING
Mari Kooi reported that she has really had a difficult time dealing
with the "SunSailor" newspaper.
1. They lost all the articles they were going to run weekly.
2. They said they would run the advertising near the front
page this week - they didn't (see advertising file).
• 3. The picture of the playground equipment and article that
were important to promote the Century Club before the
Festival were not published.
Up until this last week, the above paper was the only one used
as it was felt they would best promote 'The Festival of Parks"
in the Shorewood area. Because of the above, we lost the majority
of our planned publicity.
Mari plans to write a letter to the Editor, and will also request
the Mayor to do so.
Mari placed an ad in the Laker and it was beautifully done. A copy
of this will be sent to the Sunsailor, along with theirs.
Letters were sent to 9 newspapers, 6 T.V. Stations, and 31 radio
stations.
The Shorewood Newsletter will go out on Wednesday or Thursday
and be in the Shorewood homes just before the Festival.
Posters are out in Excelsior, Shorewood Shopping Center, 7 Hi,
Hopkins and various other places.
Buttons still need to be sold, please do your best! Remember,
buttons not sold must be turned into Concessions by 11:00 AM
• Saturday morning.
