Acting Chairman Lindstrom called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

Present: Commissioners Lindstrom, Andrus, Weatherly and Vogel;
Council Liaison Gagne and Deputy Clerk Niccum
Absent: Chairman Laberee, Commissioners Christensen and Wilson
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Andrus moved, Weatherly seconded, to approve the minutes as written.
Motion carried - 4/0.
MANOR PARK - REVIEW AND DISCUSS REPORT
Horseshoes
The Commission discussed horseshoe pits. They mentioned fencing the
entire area to prevent injury.
• Playground equipment, Volleyball Court, Sand and slide
Andrus moved, Weatherly seconded, to recommend to Council that the
Public Works Crew be requested to move the metal playground equipment
into the existing volleyball court; that the volleyball court be moved
to the chosen location south of the tennis court; that sand be placed
around the existing wooden playground equipment; and that the slide
be removed. Motion carried - 4/0.
Refinishing of tennis courts
Weatherly moved, Vogel seconded, to recommend to Council that the
tennis courts be refinished and that a plan be established for scheduled
maintenance in the future. Motion carried - 4/0.
Gate in tennis court fence
Andrus moved, Vogel seconded, to recommend to Council that estimates
be obtained regarding putting a gate in the north end of the Manor
Park tennis court to prevent players from continously tearing the
fence apart to chase balls. Motion carried - 4/0.
Picnic Tables
Andrus moved, Vogel seconded, to table buying new picnic tables until
the other improvements are made to see if people still throw the tables
• in the pond. Motion carried - 4/0.

Warming House
The Commission asked Gagne to ask Council to act upon their motion
of 1/24/89 - "that an 8' x 32' mobile office be rented for the
1989 -1990 season for a period of 3 months at the cost of $150 a
month; that the floor be covered for protection with somethin
(preferably free); that Public Works be asked to build a suitable
entrance platform above ground and benches for seating; that electricity
be run to the trailer; and that necessary satellite(s) be provided.
SILVERWOOD PARR
Andrus moved, Weatherly seconded, that Silverwood Park discussion be
tabled until Laberee is present. Motion carried - 4/0.
RAFT - CITY OF CHANHASSEN
Vogel moved, Andrus seconded, to recommend to Council that the raft be
sold to the City of Chanhassen if they are interested in buying it;
if they are not interested in buying it that the City run an ad and
sell both rafts. Motion carried - 4/0.
Kirk McDonald, City of Tonka Bay City Manager agrees with this motion.
FREEMAN PARK
• Gagne reported that Engineer Norton said Freeman Park should be done
by July 1. Gagne suggested that Sue contact George Haun and ask him
to join the Commission at Freeman Park at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 1.
MATTERS FROM THE FL OOR
Park Capital Improvement Plan
Andrus asked for the Park Capital Improvement changes. No one
had them. He asked that they please have them done for the next
meeting.
Snowmobiles
Sue presented a letter from Bill Kullberg. She will check with
the Police Department and the Council members to see if they had
any complaints during the 1988 -89 season. The Ordinance will be
reviewed during the next month.
FENCING - CITY OF CHANHASSEN - CATHCART PARK
Andrus moved, Weatherly seconded, to recommend to Council that the
Park Commission will pay the additional amount to have the City of
Chanhassen do the fence at Cathcart Park in black vinyl. Sue is to
contact them immediately. Motion carried - 3 ayes - 1 nay - Vogel.

Weatherly moved, Lindstrom seconded to adjourn at 8:25 PM. Motion
carried unanimously.
