012693 PK MIN CITY OF SHOREWOOD SHOREWOOD CITY HALL PARK COMMISSION MEETING 5755 COUNTRY CLUB ROAD TUESDAY, JANUARY 26, 1993 7:00 PM MINUTES CALL TO ORDER Chairman Dzurak called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. ROLL CALL Present: Chairman Dzurak, Commissioners Andrus, Bensman, Fuller, Laberee, Lindstrom, McCarty and Wilson; Council Liaison Benson; Administrator Hurm; and Park Secretary Niccum APPROVAL OF MINUTES McCarty moved, Fuller seconded, to approve the minutes of January 5, 1993,as written. Notion carried unanimously. Andrus moved, Lindstrom seconded, to approve the minutes of January 12, 1993, as written. Motion carried unanimously. CHAIRMAN DZURAK'8 OPENING COMMENTS Chairman Dzurak passed out and reviewed a list of comments he would like to see followed in 1993. He started by saying that the agenda would now have an estimated time schedule for each item. His memo is attached and made a part of these minutes. 1993 LIAISON SELECTION The Commissioner selected the months they wish to be liaison to the City Council (see attached). FREEMAN PARK SURVEY UPDATE Administrator Hurm said the survey has been completed. Laberee asked if steel stakes had been used to make requested spots, he said if not, he strongly suggested doing so. DISCUSSION OF COMMISSION COMMITTEES The Commission reviewed the draft for Committee assignments, and after making a few changes, accepted their assignments unanimously (attached). SHOREWOOD PARK COMMISSION MINUTES TUESDAY, JANUARY 26, 1993 - Page two REPORTS Light Rail Transit, Interim Regional Recreation Corridor Hurm informed the Commission that the Council passed the proposed draft Resolution. Silverwood Park Status Hurm said they have plowed the snow to induce ground freezing and plan to finish the work soon. Snowmobiles Niccum said Cindy Ellis called to see if any problems had been reported. Niccum talked to Kullberg, who said the meeting held by the snowmobile group was encouraging, many people were interested in joining the Snow Patrol.
