021793 PK MIN CITY OF SHOREWOOD SHOREWOOD CITY HALL PARK COMMISSION MEETING 5755 COUNTRY CLUB ROAD WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 1993 8:00 P.M. MINUTES CALL TO ORDER Chairman Dzurak called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. ROLL CALL Present: Chairman Dzurak, Commissioners Bensman, Lindstrom, McCarty and Wilson; Administrator Hurm; and Park Planner Koegler. Absent: Commissioners Fuller and Laberee PARK CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM The Park Commission discussed the Park Capital Improvement Program in general. PARK REFERENDUM The Commission also shared information regarding the Park Referendum effort. Members of the Park Commission will utilize clip boards for display purposes at sign-ups for Little League and other sports organizations. Commissioners Jim Wilson and Jennifer McCarty volunteered to appear on a cable television program panel to discuss the upcoming park referendum. Park Planner Mark Koegler will be present to make a presentation on the program. WEST 62ND STREET/LAKE VIRGINIA DRIVE TRAIL EASEMENT Administrator Hurm reported that he has contacted the property owner along the north side of the 300’-400' trail between the end of West 62nd Street and Lake Virginia Drive. The property owner has not yet responded concerning the potential of the City acquiring easement for trail purposes. TRAIL GRANT DENIED Administrator Hurm also reported that Shorewood was not among the eight cities in the state that received trail grants. Seventy-two communities state-wide had applied, including Shorewood. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:15 PM. RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED, James C.
