Cooper Mayor Village of ];)~HhFlYen Sh.c~~ Route 5, Box 2 Excelsior, Minnesota Dear Mr. Cooper: It is with regret, and only after a lengthy deliberation, that I hereby submit to you and to the Village Council my resignation from the Shorewood Planning Commission, effective immediately. I am submitting my resignation for only one reason. As of December 31, 1969 I acquired an interest in a substantial tract of land in the southeast corner of the Village. I feel that under these circumstances to continue as a member of the Planning Commission, particularly at this time when an over-all zoning plan is being studied and may soon be acted upon, will result in severe criticism by members of the public directed toward me, the Planning Commission, the Mayor and the Council. I have considered the possibility of continuing on the Planning Commission but without participating in recommendations concerning the tract of land in which I have an interest. I concluded, however, that this action would be insufficient to eliminate, or for that matter even reduce, criticism. I have appreciated the opportunity that has been afforded me to serve on the Planning Commission. If at any time in the future I can be of any assistance to the Village of Shorewood, please feel free to call upon me. ." Very truly yours '-E-!t/"'" ;j / '( tlj. / /. .,.' ./ ~.
