Municipal utility price increase
A reminderthat in March the city council approved
n increase in utility rates effective on the
October utility bill for water, sanitary sewer and
storm water. The water and sewer rates have
not kept up with operating costs over the past
several years. After an analysis of rates, staff j
recommended a series of increases over a ten year
period to bring the funds up to cover costs. Storm
sewer had been raised previously, so will not have
to be raised to the same level. id
Complete details on price increases was in
the March Shore Report newsletter available
from the city website, www.ci.shorewood.mn.us /
ShoreReport. Call city hall at 952.960.7900 with °
questions or billing issues.

FREE Secure
Paper Shredding
Saturday, October 5
9 am -12 prn
Shorewood City Hall, 5755 Country Club Road
Here's how it works:
• Gather up all of your old files, tax returns, bank statements and any other secure papers you may
have (newspapers and non - secure papers should be put in your recycling cart and not brought
for shredding).
• Bring the items in paper bags to the city hall parking lot (bags will be returned)
• Cones will be set up to direct you in one driveway.
• Stay in your vehicle. Volunteers will remove your paper for the shred truck.
Know what to shred:
Although opinions differ on exactly what to shred, basically know that you should shred any documents
containing signatures, account numbers, social security numbers, credit card offers, and any legal or medical
information (including tax forms, checks, pay stubs, etc.). General mail, catalogs and flyers do not need to be
shredded, and are better recycled curbside. Contact jmoore @ci.shorewood, 952.960.7906, with questions.
