City Council Approves 2020 Budget t its regular meeting on Additionally General Fund Services ADecember 9, 2019, the city council adopted the final 2020 general fund budget and the 2020 property tax levy. The city's 2020 adopted property tax levy of $5,856,611 is 5.9% higher than the 2019 total levy of $5,530,322. However, the city's payable 2020 tax rate is projected to increase by just 1.5 %. This means that property owners with no change in market values from payable 2019 to payable 2020 should experience an approximate 1.5% increase in the city portion of their overall property tax bill. Minnesota State Statue (169.42) prohibits relocating snow and ice from private property -- including driveways and parking lots - -to a roadway, sidewalk or adjacent property (unless you have permission of the property owner). On warmer days, relocating some of the piles around your driveway might be necessary to prepare for the next snowfall.
