BOARD
Background: The 2022 General Election was held on November 8, 2022 in Precinct 1,
Precinct 2, Precinct 3, and Precinct 4, in the City of Shorewood. The Election included
City Council (2) seats. The City’s Canvassing Board approved the official election
results at a Canvasing Board Meeting held on November 14, 2022. Due to the close
election of one of the City Council races which fell into the threshold of .5% for a public
recount, City Election officials held a Recount at the request of the candidate on
November 30, 2022. The Recount resulted in the attached totals that will need to be
Canvassed; Dustin Maddy at 1610 votes, and Nat Gorham at 1600 votes, Gorham
gaining one vote in the Recount.
The special Election Canvas Board meeting is set for Monday, December 12, 2022 at
7:00 p.m. which will be directly followed by the Regular City Council Meeting.
Action Requested: Staff respectfully Recommends the City Council Approve
Resolution 22-125 Accepting the Local Results of the 2022 General Election.

RESOLUTION 22-125
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING LOCAL RESULTS
OF THE 2022 GENERAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, a General Election was held on November 8, 2022, in Precinct 1, Precinct
2, Precinct 3, and Precinct 4 of the City of Shorewood; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Canvassing Board certified the election results at a meeting
held on November 14, 2022; and
WHEREAS, there was a publicly funded Recount requested on the local race between
Dustin Maddy and Nat Gorham, which met the threshold of .5% and it was held on
November 30, 2022; and
WHEREAS, said election results of the Recount are officially contained in the tabulation
attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit A;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Canvassing Board of the City of
Shorewood as follows:
That the tabulation of election results for the General Election held on November 8,
2022, as contained in the tabulation attached and amended as a result of the Recount
hereto as Exhibit A is hereby approved.
ADOPTED BY THE CANVASSING BOARD OF THE CITY OF SHOREWOOD this

CANVASSING BOARD RESULTS
City of Shorewood Election held Tuesday, November 8, 2022, in the County of Hennepin,
State of Minnesota. Results for Shorewood Precinct 4 in Carver County were 0 as there are
currently no residences in the Precinct. At an Election held in Shorewood Precinct 1, Precinct
2, and Precinct 3 in Hennepin County, and as a result of a Recount performed on November
30, 2022 for the local race of Dustin Maddy and Nat Gorham, the following named persons or
propositions received the number of votes as indicated below:

of the ballots cast at the General Election on November 8, 2022, were carefully tabulated

or propositions, correctly shows the number of votes cast. The national flag was
displayed on a suitable staff during the hours of voting.
