Background:
The City Council appoints residents of Shorewood as representatives to the Lake Minnetonka
Communications Commission (LMCC) and the Lake Minnetonka Conservation District (LMCD).
The City advertised for the upcoming openings on the City’s website, in email blasts, on the
City’s social media platforms, and in the Sun Sailor newspaper.
The LMCC is a one-year term that commences each year on March 1. The current term is
March 1, 2023, through February 29, 2024. Tom Lesser has served in this capacity for the City
of Shorewood since 2017.
The LMCD is a three-year term that commences on February 1. The current term is February 1,
2023, through January 31, 2026. Deborah Zorn has served in this capacity for the City of
Shorewood since 2014.
The council will interview the following candidates:
Lake Minnetonka Communications Commission (LMCC): March 1, 2023, to February 29, 2024
6 :15 p.m. Tom Lesser
Lake Minnetonka Conservation District (LMCD): February 1, 2023, to January 31, 2026
6:30 p.m. Deborah Zorn
A list of suggested questions for the candidates will be included in the paper packets along with
the candidate’s application materials.
