A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT BIDS AND AWARD CONTRACT FOR
THE 2024 MILL & OVERLAY AND SMITHTOWN RD DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS
PROJECT
CITY PROJECT 24-01
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the 2024 Mill & Overlay and Smithtown
Road Drainage Improvements project, bids were received on April 11, 2024, opened and
tabulated according to law, with the following bids received and complying with the
advertisement:
Northwest Asphalt, Inc.
$889,594.36
GMH Asphalt Corporation
$911,955.27
Wm. Mueller & Sons, Inc.
$923,035.74
Valley Paving, Inc.
$939,406.80
Asphalt Surface Technologies Corp.
$944,368.70
Park Construction Company
$1,021,889.85
WHEREAS, Northwest Asphalt, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, Northwest Asphalt, Inc. is a responsible and responsive contractor, that has
completed projects of similar size and scope successfully; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Shorewood, the City
Council hereby accepts the bids and awards the contract to Northwest Asphalt, Inc. based on
the lowest bid amount in the name of the City of Shorewood for the 2024 Mill & Overlay and
Smithtown Road Drainage Improvements Project, according to the plans and specifications
therefore approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Shorewood that the Mayor and
staff are hereby authorized and directed to execute the contract with Northwest Asphalt, Inc. for
the 2024 Mill & Overlay and Smithtown Road Drainage Improvements Project.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHOREWOOD this 22nd day of April
2024.
