A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE CHANGE ORDER #1 FOR
THE 2024 MILL & OVERLAY AND SMITHTOWN RD DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
CITY PROJECT 24-01
WHEREAS, the city council awarded a contract to NW Asphalt on April 22, 2024 for the 2024
Mill & Overlay and Smithtown Road Drainage Improvements for $889,594.36; and
WHEREAS, the project was under budget and provides an opportunity for the city to complete
some additional work; and
WHEREAS, the City had the contractor price items for Change Order #1 that included small mill
& overlay areas on Yellowstone Trail & Minnetonka Drive, addition of a bench & concrete pad
at the Smithtown Pond area, repairs to several hydrants & valves, and the addition of drainage
improvements on Church Road, as detailed in the memorandum to the City Council dated June
10, 2024; and
NOW THEREFORE, IT RESOLVED: by the City Council of the City of Shorewood hereby
authorizes and approves Change Order #1 for the 2024 Mill & Overlay and Smithtown Road
Drainage Improvements Project which will increase the contract amount with NW Asphalt by
$147,823.34 to $1,037,417.70.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHOREWOOD this 10th day of June 2024.
