RESOLUTION 24-057
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING GRANT DONATION FROM CENTERPOINT ENERGY
TO THE CITY OF SHOREWOOD ON BEHALF OF THE EXCELSIOR FIRE DISTRICT FOR THE
PURCHASE OF A THERMAL IMAGING CAMERA
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood is generally authorized to accept donations of real and
personal property pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 465.03 for the benefit of its citizens;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood, as a member city of a joint powers agreement forming and
governing the Excelsior Fire District, has received a grant donation in the amount of $2250 from
Centerpoint Energy, through its Community Safety Grant Program, for the purchase of a FUR
K33 thermal imaging camera; and
WHEREAS, the terms and conditions of the grant donation are for the purchase of a thermal
imaging camera by the Excelsior Fire District; and
WHEREAS, the grant donation has been contributed to the city for the benefit of its citizens, as
allowed by law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is appropriate to accept the grant.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHOREWOOD,
MINNESOTA AS FOLLOWS:
1. The grant donation described above is accepted and shall be used to establish and/or
operate services either alone or in cooperation with others, as allowed by law.
2. The city clerk is hereby directed to issue receipts to each donor acknowledging the city's
receipt of the donor's donation.
3. That the city shall remit the grant proceeds to the Excelsior Fire District for the purposes
of purchasing a FUR K33 thermal imaging camera.
