RESOLUTION 24-078
A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE FINAL PLAN AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE SE AREA WATER
IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT; CITY PROJECT 24-08
WHEREAS, Shorewood was allocated American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Funds in the amount of
$883, 437.60 and has guided staff to utilize the funds for essential watermain infrastructure;
and
WHEREAS, Shorewood has a remaining balance of $231,087.17 of ARPA funds that needs to be
under procurement prior to the end of 2024 to be eligible for reimbursement; and
WHEREAS, staff have identified repairs and improvements at the SE Area Well in early 2024
that have not been included in the CIP budget, are essential water infrastructure, and are
eligible for APRA funding; and
WHEREAS, the repairs and improvements include: Filter Media Replacement, Chlorination, and
Replacement of the Control Panels.
WHEREAS, to have the improvements under contract by the end of 2024, the city would like to
proceed with the preparation of final plans & specification for the project; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHOREWOOD,
MINNESOTA AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council of the City of Shorewood, Minnesota authorizes the preparation of final
plans & specifications for the SE Area Well Improvements with the intent of utilizing the
remaining APRA funds for funding a portion of the project.
