RESOLUTION 24-081
A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE SMITHTOWN PONDS FEATURE NAMING
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood executed a purchase agreement on October 22, 2018 with
Joanne H. Schmid for the property located at 26245 Smithtown Road for the primary use of
stormwater facilities; and
WHEREAS, in section 14 of the agreement, it is stated that the City shall name a feature in
honor of the Schmids if a trail or seating area is constructed on the property; and
WHEREAS, a trail was installed on the property with two seating areas; and
WHEREAS, the City will name the trail "Pebble Brook Trail" as requested by the Schmid family
with signage placed at the trailhead to honor their family.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHOREWOOD,
MINNESOTA AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the trail located at 26245 Smithtown Road will be named "Pebble Brook Trail."
2. That signage to recognize the name and honor the Schmid family will be placed at the
trailhead.
Adopted by the City Council of Shorewood, Minnesota this 151" day of October, 2024.
