RESOLUTION 24-082
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PARKS AND RECREATION SPONSORSHIP GUIDE AND POLICY
WHEREAS, the City offers a number of free special events and parks and recreation
engagement opportunities that benefit the community; and
WHEREAS, special events and engagement opportunities have been primarily funded through
the General Fund; and
WHEREAS, staff has developed a sponsorship guide to encourage local businesses and
community partners to contribute via goods, services, or monetarily to help offset costs and
expand upon current offerings; and
WHEREAS, staff has developed a sponsorship policy to assist the City in remaining fair and
objective as it pursues, evaluates, and enters into sponsorship agreements; and
WHEREAS, the sponsorship guide will assist in enhancing existing community events and parks
and recreation engagement opportunities while strengthening relationships with community
partners.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHOREWOOD,
MINNESOTA AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the City will adopt the proposed parks and recreation sponsorship guide.
2. That the City will adopt the proposed parks and recreation sponsorship policy.
3. The guide will be reviewed annually with adjustments and changes made as
appropriate.
Adopted by the City Council of Shorewood, Minnesota this 15th day of October, 2024.
