Rd. 19 Shorewood, MN to R-36 Multi -Family Residential Marie Darling, Planning Director Shorewood Planning Commission 5755 Country Club Road Shorewood, MN 55331 Ms. Darling and Shorewood Planning Commission, RECEIVED NOV 19 2024 CITY OF SHOREWOOD Davis Family, LLC received notice from the City of Shorewood stating the City desires to rezone our property located at 23425 Co. Rd. 19 to R-313 Multi -Family Residential. Consistent with our objection to the Met Council -driven comprehensive plan amendment dated September 28, 2021, we object to the proposed and request that the Shorewood Planning Commission deny the proposed rezoning of our property. Let this letter serve as the property owner's formal objection to the proposed change in land use affecting the property located at 23425 C.R. 19 (Smithtown Road) PID 34-117-23-24-0040. The proposed change by the Shorewood Planning Commission and Metropolitan Council is in direct opposition of the property owner's continued use and enjoyment of the property. This change would limit the rights of the property owner, detract business development, and ignores the desires of residents on matters that affect them. Additionally, the newly amended R-36 requirements imposes higher dwelling ratios, further restricting the rights of the property owner and encumbers development. Similar to the comprehensive plan amendments in 2021, this proposed action ignores the constituents' desires for the future development of the community. It is in the best of interest of the property owner, the City of Shorewood and its residents to oppose the proposed change in land use.
