The City Council subsequently adopted Ordinance No. 473, a copy of which is attached. The purpose of this letter is to advise you that the trash receptacle for your property, if not kept inside a building, must be located in an approved enclosure by 1 July 2011. For most of the affected properties, a fence permit will be required. We have attached a permit application for your use. As part of the application, please submit a sketch showing where the enclosure will be located and how the enclosure will be constructed. Staff will be available if you have questions relative to the ordinance requirements. We are happy to meet with you on site if you feel that would be usefi 1. Why: The Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing to consider proposed changes to the Zoning Code establishing requirements and regulations relative to the storage and screening of trash receptacles. The proposed amendment would require that all nonresidential and multiple -family residential properties provide an enclosure for the outdoor storage of trash receptacles. A copy of the draft amendment will be available upon request as of Wednesday, 1 December 2010.
