RESOLUTION NO. 05 - 044
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER
OF THE DUTIES OF THE LOCAL BOARD OF APPEAL AND EQUALIZATION
TO HENNEPIN COUNTY FOR A THREE-YEAR PERIOD
COMMENCING IN 2006
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes allow cities to transfer the local Board of Appeal and
Equalization (also known as the Board of Review) duties to the County if said cities contract with
their county for property assessment services; and
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood currently contracts with Hennepin County for annual
assessment services; and
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood desires to transfer the duties of the local Board of
Appeal and Equalization to Hennepin County for a three-year period beginning in 2006; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered this matter pursuant to the requirements of
• M.S. 274, Subd. 3,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Shorewood that:
1. The City of Shorewood hereby transfers the duties of the local Board of Appeal and
Equalization to Hennepin County for a three-year period commencing with the 2006
review/equalization process.
2. The City Council directs the City Administrator to notify the County Assessor in writing of
this action before December 1, 2005.
