A RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS AND
ESTIMATES AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR
THE COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY 19/SMITHTOWN ROAD INTERSECTION
RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT; S.A.P. 27-619-18, S.A.P. 216-020-02
WHEREAS, the City Council, of the City of Shorewood has identified the intersection of
County State Aid Highway 19 and Smithtown Road a critical element within the overall
transportation system; and
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood, in cooperation with Hennepin County, has ordered
the preparation of Plans, Specifications and Estimate for improvements to said intersection; and
WHEREAS, WSB and Associates Inc. has prepared said Plans, Specifications and
Estimate dated, April 1, 2004, for the County State Aid Highway 19 and Smithtown Road
Intersection Improvement Project, further known as S.A.P. 27-619-18, and S.A.P. 216-020-02;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the Plans, Specifications and Estimate
are found to be in order.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Shorewood, Minnesota:
1. Plans, Specifications and Estimates, prepared by WSB & Associates, Inc., dated
April 1, 2004, for said Improvement, are hereby approved and shall be filed with
the City Clerk.
2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and in
Construction Bulletin an advertisement for bids, attached hereto as Exhibit A, ad
for bids, upon the making of such improvement under such approved plans and
specifications. The advertisement shall be published for 3 weeks, shall specify the
work to be done, shall state that bids will be opened and considered by the
Council at 10:00 a.m. on August, 4th, 2004 in the City Hall Council Chambers,
and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the Clerk and
accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond, or certified check
payable to the Clerk for 5 percent of the amount of each bid.

Bids arriving after
the designated time will be returned unopened.
All bids shall be made on the proposal forms of the City and shall be accompanied by a cashier=s check, bid bond
or certified check, payable to the City Clerk of Shorewood for five percent (5%) of the amount of bid, to be forfeited
as liquidated damages in the event that the bid is accepted and the bidder shall fail to enter promptly into a written
contract and furnish the required bond.
Each bid and all papers bound and attached thereto, together with the bid guarantee, shall be placed in an
envelope and securely sealed therein. The envelope shall be so marked as to indicate the name of bidder and the
project name and shall be addressed to the City Clerk, City of Shorewood, Shorewood City Hall, 5755 Country Club
Road, Shorewood, Minnesota 55331. It may be either mailed, delivered by messenger, or submitted in person.
Proposal forms, specifications, plans and other contract documents are available for review from the offices of
WSB & Associates, Inc., 4150 Olson Memorial Highway, Suite 300, Minneapolis, MN 55422, and can be purchased
upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit of Sixty Dollars ($60.00) for each contract package. Contract documents
are also on file and may be seen at the office of the City of Shorewood.
