RESOLUTION NO.04-077
A RESOLUTION APPROVING PUBLICATION OF
ORDINANCE NO. 405 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY
WHEREAS, on 13 September 2004, the City Council of the City of Shorewood
adopted Ordinance No. 405, entitled "an Ordinance Amending Chapter 1101 of the
Shorewood City Code Relating to Flood Plain Management Regulations"; and
WHEREAS, the City staff has prepared a summary of Ordinance No. 405, as
follows:
The Ordinance establishes certain amendments to Chapter 1101 setting forth rules and
standards for the regulation of land within flood plains in the City of Shorewood. Among
the significant features of the amendment are the following:
1. Complete update of Chapter 1101 which was originally adopted in 1979.
2. Brings the regulations up to date with current statutes, Federal regulations,
and related City ordinances.
3. Establishes flood plain districts.
• 4. Establishes floodway and flood fringe district standards.
5. Establishes procedures for the review and approval of development requests.
6. Enhances provisions for administration of regulations.
A COPY OF THE ENTIRE TEXT OF THE ORDINANCE IS AVAILABLE IN
THE OFFICE OF THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR/CLERK.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHOREWOOD:
1. The City Council finds that the above title and summary of Ordinance No.
405 clearly informs the public of intent and effect of the ordinance.
2. The City Clerk is directed to publish this resolution, in lieu of publication
of the entire text of Ordinance No. 405, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes,
Section 412.191, subdivision 4.
3. The City Administrator is directed to make available a copy of the entire text
of Ordinance No. 405 for public inspection.
