RESOLUTION NO. 00-115
A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN MAP
OF THE SHOREWOOD COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
WHEREAS, Minnetonka Moorings, Inc. (Applicant) has an interest in certain real
property located at 600 West Lake Street in the City of Shorewood, County of Hennepin, State of
Minnesota, legally described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part hereof; and
WHEREAS, the Applicant proposes to expand the Shorewood Yacht Club, which
currently occupies the property, add an accessory storage building and additional dock slips; and
WHEREAS, the expansion site is cun"ently designated as "minimum density residential"
and "area of fUlther study" on the Land Use Plan map in the Shorewood Comprehensive Plan;
WHEREAS, the Applicant has requested that the Comprehensive Plan be amended to
designate the property as "commercial"; and
WHEREAS, the Applicant's request was reviewed by the City Planner, and his
recommendations were duly set forth in memoranda to the Planning Commission dated 27
September 2000, and 1 November 2000 which memoranda are on file at City Hall; and
WHEREAS, after required notice, a public hearing was held and the application was
reviewed by the Planning Commission at a special meeting on 2 November 2000, the minutes of
which meeting are on file at City Hall; and
WHEREAS, the Applicant's request for a Comprehensive Plan amendment was
considered by the City Council at its regular meeting on 27 November 2000, at which time the
Planner's memoranda and the minutes of the Planning Commission were reviewed and
comments were heard by the Council from the City Staff.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Shorewood as follows:
1. That the City Council hereby grants the Applicant's request for a Comprehensive
Plan amendment.
2. That the Zoning Administrator is hereby directed to change the land use
designation for the property legally described in Exhibit A to "commecial" on the Land Use Plan
map.
