A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AWARDING
CONTRACT FOR FREEMAN PARK MULTIPURPOSE BUILDING
CITY PROJECT 9922
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for local improvements
designated as the Freeman Park Multipurpose Building and Appurtenant Work, City
Project No. 9922, bids were received, opened on June 7, 2000 and tabulated according to
law, and such tabulation is attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, the apparent low bidder VSI Construction Inc. has withdrawn their
bid without bias towards the City of Shorewood as demonstrated in Exhibit B; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that CM Construction, Inc. is the
lowest responsible bidder in compliance with the specifications.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Shorewood as follows:
. 1. That the Mayor and Acting City Administrator/Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed to enter into a contract with CM Construction, Inc., in the name of the City of
Shorewood, Project No. 9922, according to the plans and specifications therefor approved
by the City Council on file in the office of the City Administrator/Clerk.
2. That the Acting City Administrator/Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except for the deposits of
the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder, which shall be retained until a contract
has been signed.

I would like to thank you for all your assistance and support regarding our
proposal for the Freeman Park Building project.
• I've exhausted every possibility in searching out a viable solution to our proposal
however, at this time I would like to formally withdraw from the Freeman project.
By withdrawing, we hope to alleviate any concerns the City of Shorewood may
have had in regard to our bid.
