CITY OF SHOREWOOD
RESOLUTION NO. 99- 021
A RESOLUTION MAKING APPROVING CONCEPT LAYOUT
FOR COUNTY ROAD 19 - SMITHTOWN ROAD - COUNTRY CLUB ROAD
INTERSECTION
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood has petitioned Hennepin County to perform
an intersection study of County Road I9-Smithtwon Road-Country Club Road
intersection, regarding the installation of a traffic signal; and
WHEREAS, Hennepin County determined that the conditions of s~~ intersection,
as reported in "Exhibit N' was found to warrant the installation of a traffic- signal and has
been determined to fall within the top ten non-signalized intersections prioritized across
Hennepin County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood has caused preparation of and has accepted a
traffic study-feasibility report dated January 11, 1999 for said Improvement Project
.
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood has sought input from the public and
neighboring cities regarding alternatives considered, and has determined that realignment
of said intersection as shown in Exhibit B is the preferred alternative,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Shorewood as follows:
1. That the City Council of Shorewood hereby requests Hennepin County to
cominence with the design of Alternative 3, as indicated in "Exhibit B" of this
resolution.
2. The City of Shorewood hereby requests that Hennepin County serve as the
lead agency in the design and construction of said project.
