RESOLurIrn ID. 80-87 A REsoLurIrn PROVIDING FCR A a:NNECrIrn mARGE 10 a:NNECr 10 '!HE SH:l1E.WXD lVUNICIPAL WATER SYSTElVI WHEREAS, Shorewood Ordinance No. 74, Article IV, Section 1, provides for the City to charge a property owner who wishes to connect with the rrnmicipal water system "a connection charge as determined by resolution of the City Council"; and WHEREAS, the Council has made a determination of the amount to be charged those property owners desiring to connect to the Shorewood Municipal Water System. lSDV, 'IHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Shorewood that: 1. Except as set forth in paragraph 2 below, owners of properties which have not been previously assessed for rrnmicipal water shall pay a connection charge of $4,000.00 plus the cost of a water meter and remote reader upon connecting to the Shorewood Municipal Water System. 2. Cormection charges shall not be applicable to properties located within a plat served by the Shorewood Municipal Water System wherein the costs of construction of the water system serving the plat have been previously paid in full. 3. Owners of properties subject to payment of the connection charge set forth in paragraph 1 above who will incur costs for bringing water service up to their property lines shall receive a dollar-for-dollar credit against the connection charge for such costs up to a total credit of $2,000.00. 4. Connection charges shall be in addition to the permit fee prescribed by ordinance and shall be paid to the City at the time the permit is obtained.
