RESOLUI'ICN ID. 143-87 RESOLurICN GRANTING A (XN)ITICNAL USE PERMIT FOR EXPANSICN OF SImE.WXD CI'IY HALL WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood has applied for a Conditional Use Pennit for the purpose of expanding the Shorewood City Hall located at 5755 Country Chili Road, in the Ci ty of Shorewood, County of Hennepin, State of Minnesota, which property is legally described as: Lot 12, Block 2, Echo Hills Second Addition and WHEREAS, the property is located in the ~lC zoning district, which requires a Conditional Use Pennit for governmental and public regulated utility buildings; and WHEREAS, the application was reviewed by the Shorewood Planning Carrnission at a Public Hearing held on October 20, 1987; and WHEREAS, the Planning Comnission and the City Planner have recorrmended approval of the Conditional Use Pennit, and there appears to be sufficient justification for such approval. WV, 'lHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Ci ty Council of the Ci ty of Shorewood as follows: FINDINGS OF FACr 1. That the subject property is zoned R-1C and a Condi tional Use Pennit is required for the expansion of a government building located on such property. 2. That the expansion of said building is justified, pursuant to the recorrmendations of the Planning Carrnission and the City Planner. 3. That the request of the applicant meets all the requirements of the Shorewood City Code. crNCLUSICNS That based on the foregoing, the City Council of the City of Shorewood concludes: . . . 1. That the application of the City for a Conditional Use Pennit for the expansion of the City Hall is hereby granted, subject to the following conditions: a) That all parking areas shall be curb striped and landscaped. b) That the front yard setback for parking shall be observed and driveway access points shall be narrowed and defined. c) That an opaque screen be erected on the north side of the tennis courts to block the view of the public works facility from nearby residences. d) That additional evergreen trees be planted along the southerly edge of the park. e) That the northernmost corner of the site be considered for public works storage and the possibility explored for additional parking area in that location.
