RESOLUfICN ro. 155-87 A RESOLUfICN ESTABLISHING POLICY FOR '!HE MAINTENANCE OF PUBLI C RIGIl'-oF-WAY WHEREAS, Shorewood City Code Section 901.02 provides for public use of the full width of the right-of-way and the proper and efficient maintenance of the right-of-way; and WHEREAS, the primary responsibility for the proper and efficient maintenance of the public right-of-way rests with the City; and WHEREAS, owners of property located adjacent to the public right-of-way sometimes request that they be pennitted to cut the grass, trim, and otherwise maintain the right-of-way. N:JN,'ll:IEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Shorewood as follows: 1. That it shall be the policy of the City to pennit private property owners who so request to maintain the boulevard portion of the public right-of-way located contiguous with their property providing: a. that the level of maintenance is consistent with the maintenance of the public right-of-way in the imnediate area, considering the nature of the existing grass, trees and shrubbery; b. that the maintenance of the right-of-way by the private property owner does not interfere with and is not inconsistent with the City's maintenance of the public ri ght -of-way.
