85-010 . . . RESOLUTION NO. 10-85 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE TRAFFIC STUDY FOR THE AREA SOUTHWEST OF STATE TRUNK HIGHWAY 7 AND VINE HILL ROAD, MAKING CERTAIN RECOMMENDATIONS, AND FORWARDING SAID STUDY TO THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR REVIEW AND ADOPTION WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood is realizing new development in the area southwest of State Trunk Highway 7 and Vine Hill Road; and WHEREAS, the City Council determined that a study should be completed to analyze the effects of increased traffic demands in this area; and WHEREAS, the City Council ordered its consulting engineer, Orr-Schelen-Mayeron and Associates, Inc., to prepare the Traffic Study, said Study being completed and dated September, 1984; and WHEREAS, informal meetings to discuss the Traffic Study were held by City staff with property owners in the area; and WHEREAS, the City Council held an informational meeting to discuss the Traffic Study on January 21, 1985; and WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held before the City Council on January 28, 1985, notices were duly published in the Official Newspaper; and WHEREAS, the Traffic Study was presented at said meeting by the City's consulting engineers; and WHEREAS, property owners and interested persons from the area presented oral and written comments on the Traffic Study; and WHEREAS, the City Council accepted written comments on the Traffic Study until February 25, 1985; and WHEREAS, the City Council continued discussion on the Traffic Study at its meeting held on February 25, 1985. . . . NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Shorewood the fo llowing: 1. That the Traffic Study for the area southwest of State Trunk Highway 7 and Vine Hill Road as prepared by Orr-Schelen-Mayeron and Associates, Inc., is hereby accepted. 2. That the inplace signalized intersection at State Trunk Highway 7 and Vine Hill Road be revised as a tee intersection to the north. 3. That a new intersection on State Trunk Highway 7 approximately 1,300 feet west of the existing Vine Hill Road intersection be constructed. 4. That said new intersection be constructed as shown on Figure 8 of the Traffic Study described as Conceptual Layout 3 (Alternate 3). 5. That a slip ramp on to State Trunk Highway 7 be allowed from the south Frontage Road to the eastbound lanes of Highway 7 at a location to be determined by the Minnesota Department of Transportation. 6. That the above-mentioned Traffic Study and recommendations be forwarded to the Minnesota Department of Transportation for review and adoption.
