"" a/(,[l RESOLUTION NO. 55-80 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the construction of a deep well in connection with the improvement of the following described property: Commencing at the Southwest corner of Lot 213, Auditor's Subdivision No. 135; thence East to the Southeast corner thereof; thence North to a point 758.25 North from the South line of the Southeast 1/4 of the Northeast 1/4 of Section 34, Township 117, Range 23; thence West 160 feet; thence North parallel with the East line of Lot 213 to the Southerly line of the Old Highway No. 7 right-of-way; thence Southwesterly and Westerly along said right-of-way line to the Northwest corner of Lot 213; thence South to the point of beginning, and also including adjacent vacated road, Lots 213 and 290, Auditor's Subdivision No. 135 in the City of Shorewood, Minnesota bids were received, opened, and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertise- ment: 1. Bergerson-Caswell, Inc. 2. E. H. Renner & Sons 3. Key Well Drilling 4. Lane-Minnesota Co. $49,656.00 50,750.00 54,740.00 58,340.00 and, .~ WHEREAS, it appears that Bergerson-Caswell, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Shorewood, Minnesota: 1. The Mayor and Clerk/Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Bergerson-Caswell, Inc. in the name of the City of Shorewood for the construction of the above-described deep well, according to the plans and specifica- tions therefor prepared by the City Engineer, approved by the City Council, and on file in the Clerk/Administrator's office. The Clerk/Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
