WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood, located in Hennepin County,
Minnesota, has under the laws of the State of Minnesota under~aken
to formulate a Comprehensive Plan in compliance with the Mannatory
Land Planning Act, and
WHEREAS, the City of Shorewood initiated work on the plan in
1977 and since that time has engaged in extensive review and con-
sideration of all elements of the plan in cooperation with the City
Council, the City Planning Commission, the City Park and Recreation
Commission and with the citizenry at public hearings, all with the
intent of completing the plan within the authorized time limitation,
and
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan was at the following public
hearing adopted by the City Council on an interim basis and refer-
red to adjoining units of government in April 1980, and the City is
now awaiting these levels of government to review the same.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Shorewood, Minnesota, that an extension of time to 31 October
1980 for referral of the Shorewood Comprehensive Plan to the Twin
City Metro Council is hereby requested so as to allow adjacent
affected units of local governments adequate time to review an
evaluation of the plan and file comments thereon.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the clerk/administrator is requested
to submit a copy of this resolution to the Metro Council as the
formal request of the City Council for an extension of time in
compliance with the time schedule set forth in the Mandatory Land
Planning Act.
On motion being taken, the above resolution was passed
unanimously 5 to O.

meeting of the Council held dn May 28, 1980 at which all members of
the Council were present.
