80-026 . e e RESOLUTION NO. 26-80 WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission has notified the City Council of the City of Shorewood of their intent to increase charges to the City of Shorewood for treatment of sanitary sewage, and WHEREAS, the current quarterly sewer rate of $25.00 per quarter is insufficient to meet said increased charges and to also pay for the costs and expenses of operating the City's interior sanitary sewer system, and WHEREAS, the City of Shor€wood has, after due consideration, adopted an amendment to its ordinance authorizing the City Council to establish a minimum rate by resolution for sanitary sewer service and this council having the benefit of information on its costs and expenses for operating of the City's system; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Shorewood: 1. The minimum monthly charge for sanitary sewer service for each residence, residence unit, or residence equivalent unit, whether the use of water is metered or not, shall be the sum of $12.50 per month or $37.50 per quarter. 2. Metered flow charges for all premises where the rate is to be based upon the meter of the water shall be $37.50 representing a minimum quarterly flow of 25,000 gallons. In addition to the minimum quantity charge, the user shall pay $1.30 per 1,000 gallons used per quarter in excess of the above stated minimum quantity. 3. Users who prepay minimum charges six months in advance shall be given a 10 per cent reduction in cost. 4. These minimum sanitary sewer use charges for the City of Shorewood hookups shall remain in full force and effect until altered or changed by resolution of the City Council of the City of Shorewood.
