Gene is currently Vice President of a successful specialty designlbuild construction firm
where he has held a position since 1988. His expertise is in business development as well
as overseeing estimating, engineering, and project management teams completing large
commercial and industrial construction projects for the food industry nationwide.
Gene started with Steine Cold Storage after attending college at St. Cloud State
University and the University of Minnesota. A small company at the time, Gene and his
partners grew SCS from around $1 million a year in revenue to over $10 million in a
period of seven years. Gene was directly responsible for managing construction projects
nationwide ranging in size from $500,000 to $7 million.
Gene has served on the board of directors for two International Industry Organizations,
the International Association for Cold Storage Construction and the International
Association for Refrigerated Warehousing, working to develop more cost-effective
construction systems as well as working on code compliance issues for contractors and
building owners.
Gene has lived in the Lake Minnetonka area for most all of his life, graduating from
Wayzata High School in 1984. He is active in the community and enjoys involvement
and coaching local youth sports, fishing, boating, architecture, and computers. He holds
a private pilots license. Gene lives in Shorewood with his three sons Jack, Ben, and Max.
