CITY OF SHOREWOOD RESOLUTION NO. 94 - ~ A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STAFF TO DRAFT A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH OTHER SOUTHSHORE COMMUNITIES REGARDING THE SOUTHSHORE SENIOR CENTER WHEREAS, the Southshore Senior Center Task Force, composed of representatives from the Southshore Communities consisting of the cities of Shorewood, Deephaven, Tonka Bay and Greenwood, and representatives of Southshore Senior Center Advisory Board, have made a thoughtful and thorough study. In accordance with the Task Force's findings, report and recommendations; and, WHEREAS, the Task Force has concluded that the best option for the cities at this time is to construct a Senior/community Center as presented; and, WHEREAS, the building is estimated to cost $800,000; and, WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of all communities involved to jointly finance and construct said building. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council to authorize the City Administrator, Mayor and a Council member to meet with City Administrators, Mayors and designated Council members from the Southshore communities to draft a Joint Powers Agreement to be presented at a future date to the City Council for consideration.
