RESOLUTION NO. 97-89
A RESOLUTION GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
FOR ADDITIONAL ACCESSORY SPACE
WHEREAS, Robert Weiss (Applicant) is the owner of real property
located at 6175 Lake Virginia Drive in the City of Shorewood, County of
Hennepin, State of Minnesota, legally described in Exhibit A, attached
hereto and made a part hereof; and
WHEREAS, Applicant has applied to the City for a Conditional Use
Permit (CUP) to allow him to expand his existing garage to 1,000 square
feet in area, which, when added to the existing pool equipment building,
will bring the total accessory space area up to a total of 1,155 square
feet; and
WHEREAS, the Shorewood City Code requires a Conditional Use
Permit for the construction of accessory space containing a total square
footage in excess of 1,000 square feet; and
WHEREAS, the application was reviewed by the Shorewood Planning
Commission at a public hearing held on 7 November 1989, for which notice
was duly given.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Shorewood as follows:
FINDINGS OF FACT
1. That the total proposed accessory space (1,155 square feet)
does not exceed the "footprint" area of the principal structure (1,851
square feet).
2. T hat the total area of the accessory space does not exceed
ten per cent (10%) of the minimum lot area for the R-1A zoning district in
which it is located (4,000 square feet).
3. T hat the proposed garage and room addition have been designed
to match the design of the home and are architecturally appropriate.
4. T hat all buildings located on the property comply with the
setback requirements set forth in the Shorewood City Code.

CONCLUSIONS
That the application of the Applicant for a Conditional Use
Permit as set forth hereinabove be and hereby is granted.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHOREWOOD this
20th day of November, 1989.
