RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID FOR SINGLE ENGINE HIGH LIFT FOUR WHEEL DRIVE
TRUCK TYPE STREET SWEEPER
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for one single
engine high lift four wheel drive truck type street sweeper, bids were
received, opened on January 20, 1989, and tabulated according to law, and
the following bids were received complying with the advertisement as
follows:
Boyum Equipment, Inc.
Boyum Equipment, Inc. (alternate bid)
MacQueen Equipment, Inc.
MidCon Equipment Co.
$ 90,400.50
$ 86,445.00
$ 70,810.00
$ 104,450.00
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the bid of MacQueen
Equipment, Inc., does not comply with the specifications or equivalent
thereof; and
WHEREAS, it appears that Boyum Equipment, Inc., is the lowest
responsible bidder in compliance with the specifications; and

WHEREAS, Boyum has submitted an alternative bid on a demonstrator
model with just 49 hours of operation and double gutter brooms which is
acceptable to the City for $80,955.00, with trade-in.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Shorewood as follows:
1. That the City accept the alternative bid of Boyum Equipment,
Inc., in the amount of $80,955.00, according to the specifications
therefor approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the
City Clerk.
2. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except
that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder
shall be retained until delivery and acceptance of said single engine high
lift four wheel truck type street sweeper has been completed.
