RESOLUTION NO. 114-88
RESOLUTION GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO
ROBERT HEGSTROM
WHEREAS, Robert Hegstrom (Applicant) is the owner of real
property located at 27820 Island View Road, City of Shorewood, County of
Hennepin, State of Minnesota, legally described as follows:
(See Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof)
WHEREAS, Applicant has applied to the City for a Conditional Use
Permit to construct a storage building which will put the total amount of
accessory space on his property over 1,000 square feet in area; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held and the application reviewed
by the Planning Commission on 4 October 1988.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Shorewood as follows:
FINDINGS OF FACT
1. That the Subject Property is located in an R-1A zoning
district which requires a Conditional Use Permit for the construction of
accessory space in excess of 1,000 square feet.
2. That the total area of accessory space (1,115 square feet)
requested by A pplicant does not exceed the footprint size of the
Applicant's house (3,108 square feet).
3. T hat the total area of accessory structures does not exceed
4,000 square feet (10% of the minimum lot size requirement for the R-1A
district) .
4. T hat the proposed building complies with the setback
requirements of the R-1A district.
5. T hat the proposed building is in keeping with the principal
structure and is consistent with the architectural character of the
Applicant's home.
6. T hat there is an existing "lumberyard shed" structure located
on the property which Applicant intends to raze.

CONCLUSION
That based on the foregoing, the City Council of the City of
Shorewood hereby approves the application of Robert Hegstrom for a
Conditional Use Permit as set forth hereinabove subject to the following
conditions:
1. That the existing "lumberyard shed" structure located on the
property be removed.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Shorewood this 11th day of
October, 1988.
