RESOLurIOO ro. 76-88 RESOLurIOO GRANrIOO amITICNAL USE FOR A SPECIAL HlVlE <XXlJPATIOO WHEREAS, Tan Swanson (Applicant) is the owner of certain real property located at 25405 Smithtown Road in the City of Shorewood, County of Hennepin, State of Minnesota, legally described in Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof; and WHEREAS, Applicant resides on said property and proposes to operate an upholstery business from an accessory building located on the premises; and WHEREAS, such a hane occupation requires a Conditional Use Permit, pursuant to Shorewood City Code; and WHEREAS, Applicant works by himself and it appears that he has very few custaners who cane to hi s shop; and WHEREAS, the Ci ty has previously granted a special hane occupation for an upholstery shop to another resident and has received no complaints; and \~, it appears that such a use would be compatible with the surrounding residential uses and cause no disturbance; and WHEREAS, the application was reviewed by the Shorewood Planning Coomission at a Public Hearing held on 5 July 1988; and WHEREAS, the subject parcel of land is zoned R-lA, single-family residential. N:lV, lHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the Ci ty of Shorewood as follows: FINDIOOS OF FACT 1. That land use and zoning in the area surrounding the subject parcel of land are as follows: Surrounding land use is single-family residential. Zoning on the west, south and east sides of the site is R-1A, and zoning to the north is R-1C. # . . . . 1 2. That the proposed use of the property for a home occupation of upholstering will be secondary to the residential use of the premises, will not change the residential character thereof, and will not result in incompatibility or disturbance to the surrounding residential uses. 3.
