RESOLurICN 00. ,tM~gg A RESOLurICN DENYING AN M'.IENI.1VJENl' TO 1HE ZeNING ORDINANCE OF 1HE CI1Y OF SIDRm\aD WHEREAS, Nanci Strickland-Balogh, (Appl icant), owns an interest in certain land in the City of Shorewood, Minnesota, legally described as: Lot 108, Auditor's Subdivision No. 133 and the West 100 feet of the South 10 feet of Lot 1, Pebble Brook Addi t ion and WHEREAS, said land (Subject Property) is presently zoned R-1A; and WHEREAS, the Applicant has applied for an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance whereby the Subject Property would be zoned R-1B; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held and the application reviewed by the Planning Corrmission on April 5, 1988; and WHEREAS, the City Council considered the application at their regular meeting on April 11, 1988, and voted to return the application to the Planning Corrmission for further study and recommendation; and WHEREAS, a further review of the application was had before the Planning Corrmission on April 19, 1988; and \~, the City Council, at their regular meeting on April 25, 1988, voted to deny the application and directed the City Attorney to prepare Findings and Conclusions for review and action by the Council at their next regularly scheduled meeting. I\OV, lHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Ci ty Counci I of the Ci ty of Shorewood as follows: FINDINGS OF FACT 1. That the above-described property carries a density classification of semi-rural residential (0 - 1 unit per acre) under the City Comprehensive Plan. 2. That a substantial majority of the land in the immediate area of the Subject Property is classified as semi-rural residential (0 - 1 uni ts per acre). . . . 3. That the increase in density proposed by the amendnent would be inconsistent with the density as set forth in the Comprehensive Plan for the adjacent areas. 4. That an increase in density for the Subject Property would be adverse to the general welfare, public health and safety of the conmunity. 5. That the proposed action has been considered in relation to the specific policies and provisions of and has been found to be inconsistent with the official City Comprehensive Plan. <UO.,US ICNS That based on the foregoing, the City Council of the City of Shorewood hereby denies Applicant's request for an amendment to the City Comprehensive Plan changing the classification of the Subject Property from semi-residential (0 - 1 unit per acre) to low-density residential (1 - 2 units per acre).
