Dear Mr. Dawson,
Due to the recent resignation of my wife, Donna, from the Planning Commission, I know
there is a Commission opening. More importantly, there is no current representation from
the -"islands" on the Commission.
I've discussed the Commission, its work, and the current lack of -"islands" representation
with neighbors and have found strong support for me to offer my services as a
Commission member.
I can offer as qualifications:
- more than seven years' as a resident of the "islands";
- first name basis relationships with many of the local residents;
- an appreciation for the need to manage and preserve the beautiful environment we have
in Shorewood, while being progressive in promoting improvements;
- more than thirty years' of business management experience. including managing
technology companies in the electronics.and geographic information systems businesses;
- MEA and BSEE degrees;
- and, a willingness to work .hard for the community.

I am writing to apply for a position on the City Planning Commission. As a new but
likely permanent resident. of Shorewood, an attorney, and the mother of a young family
whose roots run deep in the Lake Minnetonka area, I am interested in the position
because I want to do what I know I can do wen, to help improve the place that is home to
my family.
Currently I am a sole practitioner. speCializing in estate planning and real estate matters.
Most of my legal background is in these two areas. Some of my most relevant
experience cOIIlesfromworkillg as a real estate title examiner and real estate attorney
where I have dealt hourly with a realm of real property issues, especially city zoning
codes. Working for myself as I now plan to do for some time allows me the time, energy,
