RESOLurICN ro. 8-86 A RESOLurICN PROVIDING FOR lVIIITER USE FOR NNlliSIDENrIAL PRE\1ISES 10 DEIERVlINE SEWER SERVICE aIARGES WHEREAS, Shorewood City Code Section 904.15, Subdivision 2, provides for the City Council, by resolution, to require and order the installat ion of water meters to measure water flow for purposes of detennining sewer usage in instances where flat charges are impractical or inequitable; and \*~, the City Council has detennined that the established flat charges for nonresidential sewer use are impractical to apply, result in inequitable charges because of insufficient or excessive use, and are otherwise unreliable in fairly and properly assessing charges associated with sanitary sewer usage. rm, 'lHEREF<Jlli, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Shorewood, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That every nonresidential lot, parcel or land, unit or premises which has a connection directly or indirectly into the City sanitary sewer system shall be required to install a water meter at the owner's expense in such manner that the quantity of water which actually could enter into the sewer system may be detennined. 2. That the charges or rates for sanitary sewer service shall be based upon the amount of water which can enter the sanitary sewer system as measured by the water meter installed on the nonresidential premises. 3. That this requirement of meter use for nonresidential sanitary sewer usage shall be effective as of April 1, 1988.
