Draft of 2003 Goals and Priorities
Attached is a list of potential goals and priorities developed by staff for 2003. Also attached is the
work program identified by the Planning Commission for 2003. The items listed are meant to
identify matters that will be above the usual day-to-day issues that come to the Council, commissions,
and staff.
This is a work-in-progress; it is meant to spark, rather than limit, ideas and discussion. Council
should identify what needs to be added, modified, or deleted, and then indicate which items should
have high priority for 2003.
Assuming that the Council finishes its review and gives direction at the work session, a revised and
completed list will be prepared for Council approval at its January 27 meeting.

Annual Appreciation Event
During the budget adoption process, the City Council stated that it wished to revisit its annual
appreciation event for City staff, commissions, and volunteers. There were some comments that,
after initial discussion, this matter could be pursued by some of the councilmembers and staff.
Staff has assembled a brief summary of costs for this event since 1999.
