The South Lake Minnetonka Police Department (SLMPD) and Excelsior Fire District (EFD) will be
providing tours of public safety facilities in Golden Valley, Robbinsdale, and Brooklyn Center. The
tours are open to councilmembers and staff from the cities of Deephaven, Excelsior, Greenwood,
Shorewood, and Tonka Bay. The purpose of the tour is to offer an opportunity for these persons to
become familiar with recently-constructed public safety facilities and to use this experience when
considering the potential construction of a new facility for SLMPD.
A majority of Shorewood councilmembers has indicated that they will be taking the tour.
Council members may have discussions with each other about their questions, concerns, and
impressions. There will be no action taken by the Council, as it is not an official City Council
meeting.
